Backup everything earlier y'all start editing the files .

.: Installation of FO4Edit :.
1. Download and unpack the archive somewhere (i.e. Desktop)

2. Yous should now have a folder with some stuff in it

three. Rename the "TES5Edit" binder to "FO4Edit" and the "TES5Edit.exe" to "FO4Edit.exe"

iv. Copy the whole folder into your Fallout 4 main directory

.: Using of FO4Edit to edit weapon stats :.
i. Start up FO4Edit ( and uncheck all the files except for fallout4.esm

two. Click on the tiny + symbol at the side of fallout4.esm

iii. Scroll downward to the weapons category

4. Now select the weapon y'all wanna edit . For this tutorial I used the assault rifle .

v. Now right-click the weapon and select "Re-create as override into..."

half-dozen. Accept the warning message , check the "new file" box and press OK

seven. Now you tin give your weapon a proper name (Non the name used in-game)

8. Whorl upwards and close the fallout4.esm category , you now encounter that a new <yourweaponname>.esp file appeared.

nine. Open the <yourweaponname>.esp and the weapon category inside information technology .
10. Now you can start editing .

Yous can edit all the values in the red circle
Here is a list of values and what they change:
EDID - Editor ID : The name shown in the debug panel
Total - Proper noun : shown In-game proper name (i.e. The Penetrator 3000)
ETYP - Equipment Type : Sets how the weapon is equipped (i.e. Left-handed,Both-handed,..)
DNAM - Data : - Ammo : Sets the ammo which the gun fires (i.e. nukes)

xi. When you finished editing printing Ctrl+S to salve the weapon stats ( you actually made a weapon mod )

12. Enjoy your new weapon .

Hello I'm new here, so I tried to modify the ammo type of a weapon mod called Morita Boxing Rifle, and so the gun works fine and ingame I tin can see the ammo type is indeed changed from .50 cal to Alien Blaster Ammo, but when I fire the gun the muzzle flash is still that of a .fifty cal, help me please.

Hello I'thou new here, so I tried to change the ammo type of a weapon mod chosen Morita Battle Rifle, and then the gun works fine and ingame I can see the ammo blazon is indeed changed from .fifty cal to Alien Blaster Ammo, but when I burn the gun the cage flash is withal that of a .50 cal, help me delight.

Thanks, and then the trouble comes from the Silencer, once I took it off, the gun fires Aliens equalizer rounds simply fine, but I play a stealthy graphic symbol so it would be overnice if I could keep the Silencer, is the ABR incompatible with silencer? Maybe I could change the Ammo to Plasma rounds or Laser rounds, every bit long every bit information technology's an Free energy ammo type and compatible with silencer, I'm practiced.
